Flemming Splidsboel Hansen has spent decades researching Russia's domestic, foreign and security policy, Russian identity, political conditions in former Soviet states, and EU-Russia relations. He also works with information warfare and the use of artificial intelligence in this context. He regularly writes for outlets including Ræson, Berlingske, Jyllands-Posten and Politiken and frequently comments in Danish and international media - since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, he has given more than 1,000 interviews.

In 2023 he received the Ministry of Education and Research's research communication prize and DR's Rosenkjær Prize, awarded to someone who can make difficult subjects accessible to a broad audience. The event takes place in Store Sal.
