Art Hour - Punk in the City of Smiles

From the city centre's old industrial and barracks buildings and from suburban rehearsal spaces, punk musicians reflected the loss of the future through style and music. They gave artistic expression to powerlessness and faced hatred - yet built an open community where the boundary between art and audience dissolved, allowing people to meet fear with ironic laughter.

Historian Bertel Nygaard from Aarhus University sheds light on punk's breakthrough in Aarhus through music, images and stories.

The event is free and reserved for ARoS annual pass holders. You are welcome to bring a companion. Meeting point is the Auditorium on level 3. Other guests must purchase a museum ticket.
