Masterclass - German Expressionists: Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Emil Nolde and Käthe Kollwitz
ARoS - Auditorium, Niveau 3, Aarhus · 100 kr. · ≈ 13 €
This masterclass focuses on three German Expressionists: Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (1880-1938), Emil Nolde (1867-1956) and Käthe Kollwitz (1867-1945).
Kirchner was the driving force behind the artist group Die Brücke and is especially known for his expressive urban scenes and boldly coloured landscapes from his later period. Nolde was briefly associated with Die Brücke and is particularly remembered for his watercolours featuring portraits and floral motifs. Kollwitz worked with an expressive naturalistic formal language and depicted human misery, despair and sorrow - her drawn faces and motifs are often what people associate with her work.
The masterclass is led by Martin Bjerg Dahl, ARoS's education assistant, a student of aesthetics and culture with a specialization in art history, who has extensive experience in art historical education and lectures.
Price: 100 kr. excluding museum admission. The event takes place in the museum - remember to buy an admission ticket unless you have an annual pass.
