Thoughts on Food and Autism

In this lecture, Louise Egelund Jensen explores why many autistic people have particular eating habits, are picky eaters, or refuse food - and the striking pattern that a large proportion of those admitted with anorexia turn out to have undiagnosed autism.
Autistic people are overrepresented among those with eating problems and eating disorders. As an autist with an eating disorder, the speaker shares her perspective on why food, eating, and eating situations can become so problematic that they develop into an eating disorder. She describes how autism and eating disorders affect each other, and points to what can be done to help before an eating problem escalates.
The lecture takes place in Pontoppidan's lounge, 2nd floor. Questions can be directed to Trine Mains.
