The Musical Andersen - A Musical Lecture on H.C. Andersen

H.C. Andersen (1805-1875) is known worldwide for his fairy tales, but he was also a novelist, playwright, poet, and travel writer - and behind the fairy tales lie sharp observations of the human condition.

The lecture follows the path from the poor boy in Odense to the internationally recognized author, told by Inger Nygaard Kaad from Randers Library. Library musician Peter Elmelund accompanies on guitar and guides the audience through sing-alongs with texts by Andersen himself: both well-known songs, lesser-known ones, and a brand new melody written for one of his lesser-known poems.
