Folkeuniversitetet: Afternoons at the Library: Six Paths to the Good Life — Kolding Bibliotek, Kolding

Six Mondays in autumn bring lectures in the Great Hall at Kolding Library, arranged by Folkeuniversitetet. Each lecture runs from 17:30 to 19:15 and explores the question: what gives everyday life meaning and value? The subjects range from intellectual history and literature to neuroscience, art, and philosophy.

The series begins on 31 August, when Karsten Bidstrup Skipper (cand.mag. in intellectual history) speaks about humanity's relationship with nature. On 7 September, Peter Simonsen, professor and Ph.D. in literature at the University of Southern Denmark, examines what literature can offer us. On 14 September, physician, author, and visual artist Lærke Egefjord lectures on art and creativity as health-promoting factors.

On 21 September, art historian Tea Baark Mairey explores the great emotions in art history. A week later, on 28 September, neuroscientist Emma Louise Louth presents her research on attention. The series concludes on 5 October with Carsten Fogh Nielsen, external lecturer in philosophy at the University of Southern Denmark, speaking about good conversation.
