Overdose Awareness Day

International Overdose Awareness Day is marked every year on August 31st - this year marks the 25th anniversary. The day focuses on preventing deaths, combating stigma, and supporting those affected and bereaved.

In Kolding, the event takes place on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the pavilion in front of Kolding Library. Here you can remember overdose victims - for example by lighting a candle or laying a rose.

Kolding Substance Abuse Center shares life-saving knowledge about first aid and the use of the antidote Naloxone, and provides information about prevention and treatment options for people with problematic substance use and their loved ones.
