Book Club: 'Pigedyr' by Cecilie Lind

Borup Library's book club gathers for November's reading: 'Pigedyr' by Cecilie Lind. Librarian Rikke Frisenette leads the discussion, and everyone with an interest in reading is welcome.

The novel follows Sara, caught between childhood and adulthood. Through her perspective, Cecilie Lind portrays puberty as a place where desire, love, and abuse intertwine - and where men in positions of authority, the priest and her friend's father, reach out toward her. It is a poetic text about being both strong and vulnerable at once.

Lind received the Critics' Prize for the book, which has now been adapted into a film starring Trine Dyrholm, Christian Tafdrup, and Thure Lindhardt. The book club is reading ahead of the film premiere. Members can pick up their copy during staffed opening hours from October 16.
