What does it actually mean for a person's life to have high intelligence - and is it always an advantage? Research shows that intelligence is one of the factors that best explains differences in people's life trajectories, and that high intelligence is associated with better educational and employment opportunities as well as higher income. At the same time, the topic has a sensitive side, as it touches on identity, expectations, and the sense of belonging.

The debate about high ability is growing, particularly in primary schools and in discussions about children and young people's mental health. But what actually distinguishes high ability from intelligence in general? And how do we avoid confusing it with diagnoses such as ADHD and autism?

Psychology researcher Morten Christoffersen from Aalborg University and authorized psychologist and neuropsychology specialist Dea Franck discuss what we can measure, what we overlook, and how we best support children, young people, and adults who think faster, deeper, or differently than most. The conversation is led by journalist Louise Sloth and takes place in the room Rampen.

The event is part of Folkeuniversitetet's knowledge festival Hearts & Minds.
