Make a Witch's Bell Wreath

In ancient times, when belief in witchcraft was widespread, people hung protective objects and carved magical marks above doorways to keep evil out. At this workshop, participants bind wreaths from small bells, branches, crystals, wood slices and more.

Both adults and children from 8 years old are welcome. Adults who want to make their own wreath must buy a ticket for themselves - if you're just helping your child, only a ticket for the child is needed.

The event is part of Heksedage, a series of October events exploring the many meanings of the witch: as primal force, persecuted figure, wisdom-bearer, nature expert and symbol of resistance. Heksedage draws on the Køge Huskors witch trials, which took place in Køge 400 years ago and were among the country's most extensive - with around fifteen women as victims.

Heksedage is created by KøgeBibliotekerne, Teaterbygningen and Køge Arkiverne in collaboration with Køge Museum, Ungekulturhuset Tappen, Køge Kunstforening and other cultural actors in Køge Municipality.
