Leila Bordreuil performs electro-acoustic cello at Alice in Copenhagen.

About the venue: Alice

ALICE is a regional music venue in Nørrebro, formed in 2018 from the merger of the former venues Global and Jazzhouse. Named after American jazz pianist and composer Alice Coltrane, it focuses on music that rarely finds space on Danish stages - from global roots, folk and jazz/improv to sound art, new composed music, metal and electronic experiments. The venue also stages concerts at external locations such as Marmorkirken and Glyptoteket.

About: Leila Bordreuil

One of New York's most distinctive voices in experimental music, Bordreuil wrings her cello to the edge of recognition through extreme amplification and site-specific sound installations. Her performances move between melancholic drone and raw noise walls, and she has played everywhere from Lincoln Center to basement venues across the US and Europe.
