Jonas Eika's novel 'Åben himmel' is set in the Belgian city of Liège and unfolds from Easter to Easter in 1233-1234. The story follows a group of beguines - a kind of free women who lived religiously without being subject to the church. The main character Ida begins to experience religious visions and gradually, reluctantly emerges as a prophet.
