Kosmos Trio

Kosmos Trio plays original, contemporary jazz with a minimalist Nordic sound. The trio consists of Frede Holger on piano, Martin Brunbjerg on double bass, and Jesper Lørup on drums.

In 2022, they released their debut album "Brev til en ven" on April Records, which received positive reviews in both national and international jazz magazines. The following year, they won JazzDanmark's jazz competition. The jury's statement read: "Tonight's winners take the audience into a detailed universe, where they exploit the format and their instruments with maturity in composition and interplay. The technical refinements sound authentic and justified. Tonight's winners have great potential and talent, and exactly the right attitude and skills."

The trio works with dynamics and texture, and the silence between the notes is a conscious part of the music. Niels Overgaard writes about them: "They are telling stories with their tunes, and they have a lot to tell us."
