Lecture: From Alms to Welfare

This lecture explores the development of Danish democracy and the welfare state through five major reform waves from around 1800 to the present day - from poor relief and alms to the modern welfare state. Along the way, it examines the journey from grand social visions to today's challenges with bureaucracy, lack of political ideas, and the threats facing democracy today.
