Set Turbo on Your Zest for Life with "RolleMarie" Marie Laursen

Marie Holm Laursen, known as "RolleMarie", was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta - a congenital bone disorder - and has suffered around 500 bone fractures throughout her life. Yet she consistently chooses life, community, and experiences over protecting herself.

In her lecture, she shares concrete moments that have shaped her view on zest for life: the fall from her wheelchair in 2013 that nearly cost her her life; the evening she danced herself into a broken arm and leg and chose to stay on the dance floor; and the morning she broke a rib from hiccupping during morning song. With honesty and humor, she shows that zest for life is not about avoiding challenges, but about how we meet them.

The lecture focuses on four themes: the courage to live fully even when it is difficult, the belief that zest for life can exist alongside adversity, the importance of reaching out rather than standing alone - and how we best tackle touch anxiety and prejudices toward people who stand out.
