Birds in Flight and the Magic of Cells - On Nature Connection in Danish Performing Arts

Theater Magic is organizing this professional seminar in collaboration with Naturcenter Amager Strand. The day focuses on how performing arts and natural science enrich each other in communication and offers presentations, practical workshops, synthesis and dialogue. The target audience is nature guides, cultural consultants, educators, teachers, pedagogues and artists.

Participants: Aska Ono Bjerresø (Naturcenter Amager Strand), Helga Rosenfeldt-Olsen (WunschMachine), actress Dorte Abrahamsen and researcher/lecturer at SDU/FNUG Katrine Bergkvist Borch.

Programme:
12:00-13:00 - The performance "Bevinget", outdoor walking performance on the beach (separate registration: https://iscene.dk/2026/05/06/bevinget-teaterleg-om-fugle-i-flok/)
13:00 - Coffee and welcome with Aska & Theater Magic
13:15 - Presentation by Katrine Bergkvist Borch
13:50 - Group division
14:00-14:45 - Practical workshop with Dorte Abrahamsen and Aska Ono Bjerresø

15:00-16:20 - Synthesis and dialogue with Dorte Abrahamsen, Katrine Bergkvist Borch, Aska Ono Bjerresø and Helga Rosenfeldt-Olsen from WunschMachine
16:20 - Closing and tidying up
17:00 - Departure for shared dinner at Sundby Sejl at 17:30 (self-pay, separate registration)

Registration and price: Free for KFF employees. Others pay 40 kr. When registering, you must choose whether you are a KFF employee or not, whether you want to see the performance at 12:00 or arrive at 13:00, and whether you are participating in the shared dinner at Sundby Sejl. Each of the three elements requires separate registration - performance, seminar and dinner are three separate tickets.

Speakers:
WunschMachine's performance "Bevinget" is a walking performance with birds as the focal point, where the audience is invited on a hunt for the primal bird. WunschMachine has produced several walking performances in and about nature.

Katrine Bergkvist Borch is a researcher/lecturer at the Research Centre for Science Education and Communication.
