Frank Herbert's Legacy - An Introduction to the Dune Universe with Translator Stig W. Jørgensen
Humlebæk Bibliotek, Humlebæk · 40–50 kr. · ≈ 5–7 €
The 'Dune' novels are considered classics of science fiction literature - not least because Frank Herbert built such an extensive universe around his stories that the series is often compared to 'The Lord of the Rings'.
The evening is a conversation between Dune translator Stig W. Jørgensen and Fredensborg Libraries' literature mediator Rune Nøhr Christiansen. They discuss Dune as an inspiration for works like Star Wars, the books' place in a long sci-fi tradition, the many adaptations over time - including the new films - as well as the Danish publication history and Stig's translation work.
The event is aimed at both seasoned Dune readers and those who have yet to discover the universe.
