Lecture by Bent Blüdnikow based on his new book 'Jews in the Provinces'. The book has received broad acclaim in the press, and for this lecture Blüdnikow takes the audience through the many colourful stories he has found in archives and family histories - from bristle-makers and bakers to rabbis, horse-traders and soldiers. A central theme is that Denmark once had a very different geographical and demographic size, and that this is part of Danish-Jewish history.

The lecture takes place Thursday, 24 September 2026, 17:00-18:30, in 'Fisken' - the Danish Jewish Museum's administration building, Christians Brygge 3, 1219 Copenhagen K. Doors open 15 minutes before and close 10 minutes after the event starts.

Admission is free for members of the Society for Danish Jewish History; non-members pay 90 kr. Seating is limited, so please cancel if you cannot attend. The event is arranged by the Danish Jewish Museum and the Society for Danish Jewish History.
