John Clancy's A Performance, with Søren Hellerup

Actor Søren Hellerup brings John Clancy's monologue A PERFORMANCE to Copenhagen - the Danish premiere. Hellerup has previously performed the piece in English to sold-out houses in Portugal, and in 2023 he received widespread recognition for his role as the father Ole in Isabella Ekløf's film adaptation of Kim Leine's novel Kalak - his first Danish film role in 38 years. After more than four decades working in New York, Los Angeles, South America, Spain and Portugal, he now returns to the Copenhagen stage.

A PERFORMANCE moves between the personal and the universal, circling around presence, expectations and identity - and what it means to stand on a stage in front of an audience. Underlying it all is the question: what is theatre?

The performance runs 6, 7 and 8 October 2026 at 20:00 at The Deer and Rabbits, Øster Søgade 38A, 2100 Copenhagen Ø. Duration: approximately 1 hour.
