Pop-up Reading Circle - Jens Smærup Sørensen: 'Mother'

Jens Smærup Sørensen's book 'Mother' explores two things at once: a portrait of a particular woman and a son's attempt to understand her. The mother grew up in a fishing family by Limfjorden, had to let go of an early love, and ended up in a marriage that did not fulfill her dreams - yet she carried a zest for life that left a lasting mark on her son and the book.

Participants read 'Mother' before the meeting and then discuss it together. Admission is free, but since places are limited, there is an opportunity to join a waiting list.

The reading circle is led by church caretaker and literary enthusiast Mai Misfeldt and the priests from Humlebæk Church. The event is a collaboration between Humlebæk Church and Fredensborg Libraries.
