Talk: Transporting Scenography Around the World

An afternoon workshop at DYNAMO focusing on a concrete and often overlooked aspect of international touring: the logistics of transporting scenography. Rather than covering how to find venues or sell productions, this session addresses the practical realities of moving scenography from one location to another, and navigating customs and documentation requirements.

The workshop is led by Christian Gronemann, CEO/Partner at CVX Air & Sea (international freight forwarder), and covers four key areas: touring within the EU, touring in Europe outside the EU (including the UK, Norway, and Switzerland), overseas touring with ATA Carnet, and countries where ATA Carnet cannot be used. Gronemann will also discuss transport methods by land, sea, and air, including insurance and specialized solutions for time-critical productions.

Maja Bonde Holtze from Uppercut Danseteater contributes practical experience and case studies from life on tour as a dance company - dialogue with venues, planning, packing, documentation, and typical challenges encountered along the way. The workshop concludes with reflection on participants' own international ambitions and logistical challenges.

The workshop is free but requires registration via link (insert link) by 14 September. Lunch can be added for 100 kr. at registration - payment on arrival. The language is English, but questions in Danish are welcome. The target audience is performing artists at all experience levels who work with or are considering international touring.
