DR Klub Klassisk: Verdi's Requiem

For centuries, composers have set the Catholic Church's mass for the dead to music. Giuseppe Verdi's "Requiem" is among the most dramatic and intense - a work that circles around faith, doubt, grief, and redemption.

Tenor Stig Fogh Andersen guides us through the work. He has held positions at Den Jyske Opera and Det Kongelige Teater and is considered one of the world's most sought-after Wagner singers. He knows Verdi's "Requiem" thoroughly and has sung this and other Verdi works. The DR Symphony Orchestra and DR Concert Choir perform the work itself on October 30 at DR Concert Hall. DR Klub Klassisk is for young people and adults who want to listen to and discuss classical music. Each month the club focuses on a composer or a work, and there is always a speaker - sometimes with a music background, sometimes one of the club's own members. The club is a collaboration between DR and the libraries, and membership is free.
