Matilde Kimer Lecture - "Not Without a Fight"

An evening with Matilde Kimer, based on her latest book "Not Without a Fight" (2025). The book weaves together two narratives: the war in Ukraine and Kimer's own battle against cancer.

As a DR correspondent, Kimer offers a raw insight into the human cost of war. The book follows, among others, nurse Anastasia and photographer Orest in the hard-hit city of Kharkiv - their daily lives marked by fear, hope, and the will to resist.

At the same time, the book is a personal account: while Kimer covers the invasion, she receives a cancer diagnosis and must exchange the Ukrainian front line for radiation and chemotherapy at Herlev Hospital.
