Green Dinner with Locally Grown, Pesticide-Free Grain and Legumes — Lille Søbygaard, Søby Ærø

Projekt Øko-Ø-Ærø and Danmarks Naturfredningsforening (Danish Nature Conservation Association) are hosting a Green Dinner at Lille Søbygaard, where Helle and Jørgen Albertsen grow pesticide-free grain and peas. The dinner takes place in the barn, so bring warm clothing.

While listening to presentations, guests will be served hummus made from kaplan peas, crispbread made from purple barley, and rye bread with petkus spring rye. The main course consists of mild chili sin carne and creamy celery salad (both on purple barley), focaccia made from maria wheat, plus parsley and green salad. Dessert is a purple cream dessert with raspberry sauce. All food is prepared by Helle Albertsen.

The presentations cover the Øko-Ø-Ærø project, the Danish Nature Conservation Association's work on drinking water protection, and why Helle and Jørgen have chosen the specific crops they grow. The background includes the fact that their land is located in a borehole protection area (BNBO), where conventional farming is not permitted - instead, they produce nutrient-rich food for the local community. Øko-Ø-Ærø is a plant-fund-supported project in Ærø Municipality focused on more green, organic, and locally grown food: legumes, fruit, and vegetables in season, as well as grain.

Price is 40 kr. per person, and registration is required - there are only 100 places available. Transfer 40 kr. per person via MobilePay 0128UT, and specify how many adults (a) and children (c) are attending. You will receive a receipt.
