Literary Salon: The South Jutland Nurse

The novel series "The South Jutland Nurse" follows the young Caroline through dramatic years in both her own life and Danish history. She trains as a nurse and encounters the brutality of war firsthand. The series portrays the personal consequences of war alongside the major historical events that culminate in South Jutland's reunification with Denmark in 1920. Rasmus Nielsen's great-grandmother has been an important source of inspiration for him through her life.

The afternoon takes place in the Hall and is divided into two parts:

13:30-14:00: Librarian Ann Luther Torp recommends novels selected with inspiration from the series - coffee and cake are served.

14:00-15:00: Rasmus Nielsen talks about his work writing the novels.

Rasmus Nielsen (b. 1978) holds a master's degree in literary studies and has a background as a cultural communicator, editor, and radio producer. He is the author of the series, which consists of "Light Waves When You Turn Blue", "Before the Violets Bloom Again", and "Now the Bright Night Sleeps".

The library is accessible for wheelchair users, walkers, and prams. Hearing-impaired visitors are welcome to bring their own assistive devices.
