Montessori Baby Playgroup · 0-12 months
Islands Brygge Bibliotek, Copenhagen · 150 kr. · ≈ 20 €
A small, practical playgroup for babies (0-12 months) and their parents, built on Montessori principles and tailored to the baby's development in the first year of life. The programme spans four sessions covering observation, sensory play, respectful care, and independent movement - with activities easily repeated at home.
Programme:
September 11 · Observation: The Montessori approach to watching your baby - what captures attention, when to step in, and when to give space?
September 18 · Sensory play: How simple, carefully chosen everyday materials can stimulate the baby's senses and curiosity - without batteries or flashing toys.
October 2 · Respectful care: How everyday situations like nappy changes, dressing, and handling can become moments of connection and communication.
October 7 · Independent movement: How to arrange the environment so the baby is supported in their natural drive to move - from reaching and rolling to crawling and standing.
The four sessions are designed to complement each other but also work well as standalone workshops. The group is kept intentionally small to allow space for questions and individual guidance. Activities are adapted to the baby's developmental stage, and where appropriate, babies are divided into a non-mobile and a mobile group.
Each session lasts 45 minutes and includes a Montessori-inspired activity, practical guidance for parents, time to meet other families, and a brief summary with key points and tips. Sessions are held in English, and Christina can translate or elaborate in Danish as needed. No prior knowledge of Montessori is necessary.
The hosts are Annalisa Di Blasio, a Montessori coach with expertise in Montessori principles for babies in their first year, and Christina Legarth-Lund, Montessori-trained mother of two boys (5 months and 2.5 years) and locally rooted on Islands Brygge.
