Artist Talk: Hajra Waheed and Athena Farrokhzad

What happens when language is dangerous and words must be hummed to survive? And what can art do when the most important thing is precisely what cannot be said aloud?

In connection with the exhibition "The Sound of", the Museum of Contemporary Art Roskilde and Mellemfolkelig Samvirke invite you to a conversation between Pakistani-Canadian sound artist Hajra Waheed and Iranian-Swedish author and literary critic Athena Farrokhzad - two artists who both work at the intersection of sound, language, body, and political resistance. The conversation is moderated by journalist and author Jakob Sheik.

The talk explores unspoken language as a collective space for resistance, carrying a family's and a people's memory in the body, and art's ability to keep hope alive - not as a promise, but as practice.
