Art on Parental Leave x The Sound of Clara Mosconi — Gasværket, Roskilde

In collaboration with Art on Parental Leave, Gasværket invites you to a listening session and artist talk with Clara Mosconi - in a format adapted for you on parental leave with a baby in your arms.

Clara Mosconi is behind the sound and video installation Between Two Tongues (2026), which listens to the expressions in language that fall outside the written word: voices, pauses, misunderstandings, and those moments when words fail. Clara is herself a new mother, and in the conversation she unfolds her work on identity, multilingualism, and belonging - including how our first encounters with language begin long before we can speak ourselves.

Blankets are spread out, morning coffee, tea, and snacks are served, and sound levels, pace, and space are adapted to both babies and parents. The exhibition has stairs, so strollers are recommended to be parked under the large sail in Gasværket's courtyard - the art attendants keep watch and will let you know if a baby wakes up outside.

The listening session is part of the exhibition The Sound of, which presents works by Hajra Waheed, Hanne Lippard, Julian Abraham 'Togar', Emeka Ogboh, Cally Spooner, Francesco Fonassis, Arendse Krabbe, and Annika Kahrs. The exhibition is created in collaboration with Moderna Museet Malmö and supported by the Danish Arts Foundation, Augustinus Foundation, Ny Carlsberg Foundation, Knud Højgaard Foundation, OCA, Italian Council, Det Obelske Family Foundation, Sound Environment Center (Lund University), Art Music Denmark, Danish Composers' Association, Den Hielmstierne-Rosencroneske Foundation, and Ernst B Sund Foundation.
