Writing Workshop: Worldbuilding and Universe Creation

Interested in developing fictional universes for science fiction, fantasy, or other storytelling forms? This writing workshop is based on the book 'Handbook of Universe Creation' and led by lecturer Jakob Ion Wille.

Jakob Ion Wille is a lecturer at the Institute for Visual Design and programme director for the Visual Game & Media Design master's programme. He co-authored the handbook with Simon Jon Andreasen and Gunnar Wille. It brings together theories, experiences, and methods for understanding and creating fictional universes - based on knowledge gathered over many years, including interviews with the creators behind Squid Game, Fight Club, Walter and Trofast, Spiderman, and Avatar.

At the workshop, Jakob Ion Wille will help you understand the universes you know from books, films, TV series, and games, demystify universe creation, and give you concrete methods to build fictional worlds yourself.
