OCD - When Thoughts and Compulsions Take Control

OCD is far more than just order and routines. For those living with the condition, intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviors can dominate daily life so intensely that they create anxiety and exhaustion.

Michelle Sophia Lange Bachmann, clinical psychologist and PhD student at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department at Aarhus University Hospital, explores the causes of OCD and the treatment approaches used today. The lecture covers the many expressions of the condition - from control rituals and cleaning to intrusive thoughts - and addresses the myths that shape common understanding of OCD.

The event is part of Folkeuniversitetet's knowledge festival Hearts & Minds and takes place in the Small Hall at Aarhus Main Library.
