Examining the Body - A VR Experience with PhD Efsevia Daskalaki — Nørrebro Bibliotek, Copenhagen

This VR experience offers visitors a practical insight into the work of forensic medicine. The experience is designed to illustrate the processes involved in an autopsy, giving the audience a better understanding of forensic methods. While the VR experience does not itself perform identification, it provides a concrete framework for understanding how forensic pathologists examine the body - a central part of the identification process.

The event is connected to the SOLID exhibition. The VR experience was created by Efsevia Daskalaki, a graduate of the MSc programme in forensic medicine, anthropology and medical imaging. As part of her PhD project - in collaboration with lecturer Elena Kranioti and her team at the University of Crete and the HCI-Lab at the Institute of Computer Sciences, Foundation of Research and Technology - Hellas (Heraklion, Crete, Greece) - Daskalaki has developed a VR-based training tool focusing on virtual autopsy of the head and thorax. She is visiting Copenhagen and is affiliated with the exhibition from 5-7 October.

Location: The window area to the right of the main entrance.
