Secrets of the German Bunkers on the West Coast — Støberihallerne - Præstø Bibliotek og Borgerservice, Præstø

After liberation in May 1945, it took a long time for everyday life to return to normal - especially along the Jutland west coast, where the occupying power had built large installations as part of the Atlantic Wall, which stretched from the Spanish-French border in the south to the North Cape in the north.

Museum inspector and Ph.D. Chrestina Dahl from Vendsyssel Historical Museum gives a lecture on why the bunkers were so difficult to handle after liberation, and how Danes' relationship with the massive concrete structures has developed since. She illustrates the topic with examples from North Jutland.

The afternoon starts with a 25-minute presentation that will be livestreamed, and continues with a discussion about the topic over coffee and cake. Admission is free - book a ticket if you want to attend.
