Become a Volunteer Reader

Viborg Libraries is looking for volunteers to read aloud to adults at nursing homes and residential facilities in Viborg Municipality - a few hours now and then.

No experience with reading aloud or special literary knowledge is necessary. The most important thing is the desire to spend time with others and share stories, poems, or short tales in a calm setting.

On this morning, you will learn how the reading sessions work and how the library supports you as a volunteer. You will get inspiration for texts and meet others considering the same. If interested, you can afterwards sign up for a workshop on Tuesday, September 29, 10:30-14:00, where you will learn reading techniques, practice selecting texts, and meet the other volunteer readers. Lunch is provided. As a volunteer, you receive training and ongoing support from Viborg Libraries, and you decide how much you want to be involved.
