Literature Right Now with Caspar Eric — Hovedbiblioteket, Viborg

Poet and author Caspar Eric meets with author and journalist Gerd Laugesen at Hovedbiblioteket for a conversation about contemporary Danish literature from a generational perspective. The focus is his latest poetry collection Crip (2025), which explores life with disability and the political bias that makes it easier to discuss assisted dying than life support for people with disabilities. The collection alternates between cold facts, political anger, and more subtle reflections.

Beyond the conversation, there will be readings and insight into the creative process behind the work. A couple of high school students will contribute their own readings, and the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions.

Caspar Eric (b. 1987) holds a degree in literary studies from the University of Copenhagen and debuted in 2014 with the poetry collection 7/11. Since then he has published Nike (2015), Avatar (2017), Alt hvad du ejer (2018), Jeg vil ikke tilbage (2020), Vi kan gøre meget (2021), and Nye balancer (2023).

The event is arranged in collaboration with Hald Hovedgaard, Viborg Gymnasium og HF, Viborg Katedralskole, Midtbyens Gymnasium og EUX and is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation.
