La Cuerda y el Grito - "The String and the Scream" - is an interdisciplinary performance that merges contemporary music, free improvisation, body, and objects. Yuko Cornale uses her voice as a portal, Sofía Escamilla her cello as an extension of the body; the duo's expression emerges through attentive listening and presence in the moment. Yuko's voice unfolds, distorts, and channels the immaterial, while Sofía's cello expands through digital processing and sound objects. Voice and cello melt together and interweave in an intimate ritual, where air becomes strings and strings become screams.

Both artists were selected for Ibermúsica's program in Emilia-Romagna and have toured in Mexico and Italy with the trio HackOut!. In 2025-2026 they are developing the work The String and the Scream.

Teresa Riemann
Teresa Riemann: drums, vocals, electronics

Teresa Riemann (born 1988, Dachau) is a Berlin-based multi-instrumentalist, performance artist, and poet. She began piano lessons at age six, left classical training at sixteen, and subsequently explored guitar, cello, and from 2012 drums on her own. Since then she has developed a visceral and physical approach to percussion, accompanied by an eclectic use of her fragmented voice, where she recites fragments of humanity's living memory.

Beyond solo projects for drums and piano - including A tender kiss into the void - she performs in TRAS (Asja Skrinik: electronics and vocals; Teresa Riemann: drums and vocals), Shake the Train (Damien Jaroszonek: modular synthesizers; Lukas Huerta-Rueckner: trumpet, harmonica, and vocals; Teresa Riemann: drums and vocals), and Naked in the Zoo (Ruben Tenenbaum: violin; Teresa Riemann: drums and vocals).
