Rituals for Our Time

Rituals for Our Time with Annette Høst: Thursday 5 November 2026, 19:00–21:00, Islands Brygge Bibliotek, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 100 kr.

This evening explores how we can create new and meaningful rituals for life's important moments - both large and small. The ceremonies should reflect our own spirituality and relationship with nature while drawing on ancient traditions spanning thousands of years.

Annette Høst shares her extensive experience as a ceremony leader and offers examples from rituals across cultures, including classical rites of passage such as coming-of-age ceremonies. She discusses the ritual ingredients that work - whether the ritual is meant to affirm, bless, transform, conclude, or celebrate something significant, such as a wedding, funeral, the blessing of a new home, or a seasonal festival.

The goal is for you to leave with concrete inspiration for rituals tailored to your own network of family and friends. Annette Høst has taught animism, shamanism, and ritual for forty years and is the author of the book "Jorden Synger" about the power of nature in Nordic tradition.
