Friday Story: Inside CHPEA Museum: Friday 30 October 2026, 10:30, CHPEA Museum, Herning. Tickets cost 25 kr.

On this Friday story session, the museum opens its doors to one of its storage facilities, where the collection of over 6,000 artworks by the artist couple Else Alfelt and Carl-Henning Pedersen is kept. Along the way, stories and anecdotes about the works and the collection are shared.

About the venue: CHPEA Museum

Carl-Henning Pedersen & Else Alfelt Museum (CHPEA) opened in 1976 in Birk Centerpark, east of Herning, and holds more than 6,000 works - paintings, watercolours, sculptures and mosaics - by the CoBrA artists Carl-Henning Pedersen and Else Alfelt. The circular original building, designed by C.F. Møller, is surrounded by a moat and clad in ceramic tiles populated with fantastical figures. In 2015 an underground corridor was added, connecting the museum to the Angli courtyard where Pedersen's monumental frieze "The Play of Imagination around the Wheel of Life" is on display. Alongside the permanent collection, the museum hosts temporary exhibitions, lectures, concerts and children's activities.
