Birding - Stories About Birds and Why People Watch Them

Birding - stories about birds: Tuesday 3 November 2026, 19:00–21:00, Vesterbro Bibliotek og Kulturhus, Copenhagen. Admission is free.

Anders K. Sørensen has written a book about rediscovering his childhood passion for birds - about the excitement and disappointments of birdwatching, and why nature draws us in right now. The book is built on his own anecdotes and reflections, new data and insights, as well as conversations with other birdwatchers in the field.

A recurring theme is focus and presence in a time when authentic experiences matter - experiences in Danish nature that can still fascinate with both beauty and strength, and that create small glimpses of light amid a biodiversity crisis.

Anders shares his enthusiasm through stories and photos from hundreds of birdwatching trips. The event is part of the series "Wild About Science" and takes place in the room "Toves Rum" in the adult library on the ground floor.
