The Happy Lion (ages 2-5)

The Happy Lion - animation for toddlers: Tuesday 13 October 2026, 10:30–11:00, Sydhavnens Bibliotek, Copenhagen. Admission is free.

The Happy Lion is a performance for children aged 2 to 5 about friendship and stepping out into the world for the first time - the big upheaval when everything outside turns out to be different from home. The performance is based on the story of the same name from 1954 and is created by Teater Håndholdt in collaboration with Passepartout Theatre Production. Teater Håndholdt works with animation and object theatre for the youngest audiences.

Admission is free, but tickets must be reserved in advance. The performance takes place in Kvisten at Sydhavnens Bibliotek.

The performance is part of the Teatermagi festival during the autumn half-term (week 42), which brings performing arts to cultural centres, libraries and theatres in Østerbro, Vesterbro, Amager, Nørrebro, Vanløse, Valby, Indre By, Brønshøj-Husum, Sydhavnen and Bispebjerg. The festival is supported by Augustinus Fonden and Copenhagen's Performing Arts Committee.
