A Tomato's Life (0-4 years)
Tingbjerg Bibliotek\Kulturhus, Copenhagen
In an almost wordless solo performance, the youngest children (0-4 years) and their adults visit a gardener's greenhouse, where a cheeky snail also lives. Through animation and music, the performance tells the story of birth, fertility, death and resurrection - a tribute to the tomato plant and to the slow, cyclical world.
All props are made from recycled materials, crocheted, sewn or hand-painted. The plant grows with a pull of a string, and insects are animated with a stick.
The performance is shown on Tuesday, October 6 at 09:00 and 10:15 in the Hall at Tingbjerg Library & Cultural Centre. Entry is free, and registration is via Billetto.
The performance is part of the Teatermagi festival during the autumn break (week 42), which brings performing arts to cultural centres, libraries and theatres around Copenhagen - this year including Østerbro, Vesterbro, Amager, Nørrebro, Vanløse, Valby, Indre By, Brønshøj-Husum, Sydhavnen and Bispebjerg. The festival is supported by the Augustinus Foundation and Copenhagen's Performing Arts Committee.
