Lecture: Cecilie Rex Selmer: 'What is it like to work for a minister?'
Cecilie Rex Selmer is a former press secretary who advised European Affairs Minister Marie Bjerre (V) before, during, and after Denmark's EU presidency - the largest planned event in the Foreign Ministry this decade. She shares insights into working in the political machinery: how to prepare an EU presidency, and how to achieve results in areas such as defence, security and competitiveness, including the green transition.
The lecture also features anecdotes from visits to 27 EU countries, eight candidate countries and four trips to Ukraine, illustrated with Cecilie's own photographs and videos. As a trained journalist with a background as a live reporter for TV 2 and Radio24syv, the evening also touches on the relationship between politicians, journalists and spin doctors.
The lecture is part of the library's series "Local storytellers", where Rudersdal residents share knowledge on topics they have particular insight into. There will be an opportunity to ask questions, and coffee and cake will be served.
