In the Riddersalen at Hald Hovedgård, Karen Blixen's tale of Babette is recreated - the French refugee from the turmoil of the Paris Commune who hosts a feast at the foot of the fjeld in Berlevåg. With turtle soup, blinis, vintage wines and the riches of French cuisine, Babette brings God's kingdom down to earth, and the heaven-minded congregation is revitalized as each course is served.

Actress Anne Lilballe performs the story in shortened form between courses, playing Karen Blixen.
