Fantastic Facts: The Wild World of Animals with Line Friis and the Natural History Museum
Hovedbiblioteket, Copenhagen · Free, men kræver ticket
Fantastic Facts: The Wild World of Animals with Line Friis: Saturday 7 November 2026, 13:00–14:30, Hovedbiblioteket, Copenhagen. Admission is free.
Children's author and biologist Line Friis Frederiksen shares wild stories about animals from around the world - giant dinosaurs in Denmark, carnivorous plants, and harpoon-shooting snails. The stories are based on her book "Real, Wild Stories from Around the World", which also features unusual toothpaste, volcanoes, and mummies with surprising contents.
Afterwards, the State Natural History Museum presents skulls and jaws from the animal kingdom, letting children try putting their heads inside a crocodile's mouth and guess which skull belongs to a cave bear. From March 2027, visitors can also look forward to visiting the Zoological Museum in a new building in the Botanical Garden.
Line Friis Frederiksen is a biologist, children's author, and member of the Female Adventurers' Club. She has slept in a hammock in the Amazon jungle, caught pirate fish, and climbed mountains in Alaska - and once baked (and ate) an earthworm cake.
This event is part of the "Fantastic Facts" series, which brings non-fiction to life for curious children and adults. It takes place Saturday, November 7, 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM at Copenhagen's Main Library, Krystalgade 15, 1172 Copenhagen K, 4th floor. For children from age 6 and their adults. Free, but requires a ticket - reserve via Billetto.dk.
Note: The storytelling part with Line Friis lasts around 30-45 minutes and requires basic Danish. The Natural History Museum stand afterwards - with skulls, skins and other items from the animal kingdom - does not require any Danish. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
