Autumn - Let Creativity Loose! (For ages 5-10)

The event begins with a walk around the area where children collect autumn's gifts: leaves, fruits and plants. Along the way we look for other signs of the season and talk about what happens to trees and plants in autumn.

Afterwards we let imagination run wild. The collected materials can be used for anything - a chestnut figure, a pinecone troll, a pressed leaf painting or free drawing. We also learn the technique for pressing leaves and help inspire creative ideas. Glue, drawing tools, paper, string, scissors and more are ready to use.

At the bonfire site at Sølyst Naturcenter we light a fire where you can roast apples and bake snobrød (a traditional Danish treat) when you need a break or want to warm up.

Dress the children warmly - preferably with rain gear if the weather requires it. Bring a basket or bucket for collecting if you like. The event is organized by DN Aarhus; the contact person is Emma Lempert.
