Vild med Videnskab: The Mystery of the Sleeping Brain
Valby Bibliotek, Copenhagen · Free
Vild med Videnskab: The Mystery of the Sleeping Brain: Thursday 5 November 2026, 19:00–21:00, Valby Bibliotek, Copenhagen. Admission is free.
Sleep is one of the brain's most important functions - yet for many it has become a source of frustration. This lecture explores why we need sleep and what it actually does to the brain.
Along the way, questions are addressed such as: what happens if you sleep too little, is there reason for concern about sleep problems, and are there sleep tips that actually work?
Lecturer Thomas Thaulov Raab has written several books about the brain, including "The Changing Brain and the Wondrous Consciousness" and "A Book About Memory" (with Peter Lund Madsen). The lecture is based on the book "The Mystery of the Sleeping Brain", which he wrote together with Peter Lund Madsen, who sadly passed away shortly before the book's publication.
