Launch of Musikdata.dk

Genre organizations' analysis director Morten Ogstrup Nielsen presents the new musikdata.dk platform and demonstrates how it works in practice. Researcher Mads Krogh from the Center for Cultural Evaluation at Aarhus University presents the report "Where does music stand? - A mapping of knowledge in the music field with focus on industry conditions and developments". The report surveys knowledge production about the Danish music industry and concludes on the field's development, fragmentation, and key knowledge gaps. It was conducted as an independent, research-based project initiated by and funded by the Augustinus Foundation, covering approximately 370 research publications and industry reports.

Over the past 10-15 years, data, documentation, and analysis have played an increasingly important role in Danish music life, and new studies have provided more knowledge about everything from economics, audiences, and working conditions to diversity, technology, and live music. A comprehensive overview and coordinated effort have been lacking. Musikdata.dk is the genre organizations' answer to solving exactly that problem.
