Premiere and Talk: "When Everything Goes Dark" · Hovedbiblioteket, Aarhus
Free entry

Premiere and Talk: When Everything Goes Dark: Wednesday 14 October 2026, 15:00–16:30, Hovedbiblioteket, Aarhus. Admission is free.

Hovedbiblioteket presents the premiere of DR's programme "Når alt slukker" - and afterwards you'll meet some of those behind it.

In the programme, ten people move into five neighbouring apartments as part of a TV experiment. They know they are part of an experiment, but not what it involves. After a few hours, the power goes out - and doesn't return for three days. The programme follows the participants as they navigate daily life without electricity, running water, internet, refrigerator, stove, and functioning toilet. Resources are scarce and unevenly distributed, and the question is whether the participants help each other or fend for themselves. Psychologist Annemette Staal provides perspective on the participants' actions, and she is one of the people you can meet at the event.

The event is free, but book a free ticket via the link if you want to secure a place. It takes place in Store Sal.

The event is part of the theme day 'Together on Preparedness' on 14 October, when the library offers activities, conversations, lectures, and free communal meals throughout the day. Some activities require a free ticket - keep an eye on the programme at aakb.dk and on Facebook. The theme day is carried out in collaboration between Østifterne, DR, Dansk Folkeoplysnings Samråd, and Bibliotekernes Temasamarbejde.
