Inauguration of Digital City Walk

Digital City Walk through Herlev's History: Thursday 24 September 2026, 17:00–17:45, Herlev Kommunes Lokalarkiv, Herlev.

Why does Herlev look the way it does? And where is the city's historical centre? These are some of the questions the new digital city walk explores.

On Thursday, 24 September, Mayor Marco Damgaard will inaugurate the city walk and unveil the starting sign at the street corner. Archive director and local historian Darius Monfared will discuss the thinking behind the project and demonstrate how to use it.

The city walk has been developed by Herlev Municipality's Local Archive and runs via the Useeum app. Across 10 stops over 600 metres, you are guided through Herlev's history - from the Middle Ages to "The City of Cranes". Along the way, you have access to approximately 80 historical photographs from the archive's photo collection, three film clips from the Herlev Film, and an audio function that reads the historical descriptions aloud.

The Useeum app is a shared platform for museums and archives across the country. Feel free to download it before the inauguration - search for "Herlev" within the app once it is installed. The app is available for Android via Google Play and for iPhone via the App Store.
