The Architect and the Journalist: Architecture for Beginners

Architecture is not just for architects - it is something we all encounter every day: in the way we move through a room, in the light from a window, in materials that feel good to touch, and in buildings that either lift us up or drain us.

With the architect's professional eye and the journalist's knack for a sharp headline, this lecture presents an accessible and humorous introduction to the fundamentals of architecture. The focus is on how space, proportions, movement and the senses work together - and why it matters that more people understand the language behind the places where we live, work and spend our lives. The goal is not to turn the audience into architects, but to give everyone a common starting point for discussing quality in our surroundings.

The event is part of Architecture Day in Viborg Municipality, marked on October 5th. It takes place in the Skakbrættet room at Hovedbiblioteket and is free - but registration is required.
