Literary Saturday: Sigrid Undset with Klaus Rothstein
Øbro Jagtvej Bibliotek, Copenhagen · 75 kr. · ≈ 10 €
Literary evening on Sigrid Undset with Klaus Rothstein: Saturday 20 March 2027, 14:00–16:00, Øbro Jagtvej Bibliotek, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 75 kr.
Sigrid Undset won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1928, primarily for her masterwork Kristin Lavransdatter and the historical novel series about Olav Audunssøn. Through these works and her early breakthrough Jenny, she depicted the focal points of human life with historical precision and psychological depth. In the 1930s, she was one of the sharpest critics of Nazism and Fascism, which forced her into exile during World War II. Her conversion to Catholicism left a profound ethical and existential mark on her entire body of work.
Klaus Rothstein, literary critic at Weekendavisen and author of essay collections at the intersection of literature, politics, and society, will guide the evening. He has extensive experience as a curator and host of literary radio programmes and podcasts, and works deeply with literary history - including through events at the Royal Library.
Tickets cost 75 kr. and include coffee and pastry. Tickets are non-refundable unless the conditions of the event change.
